Arizona Right to Life PAC Announces its Endorsements For Statewide Offices in the Arizona Primary
Phoenix, AZ- July 19, 2010 - The Arizona Right to Life Political Action Committee (AZRTL PAC) announces its endorsements and recommendations for statewide offices in the Arizona Primary held August 24, 2010. AZRTL PAC based the following determinations on the candidate’s answers to the AZRTL PAC questionnaire, their history of pro-life involvement, any history of voting on abortion related legislation, and their chances of defeating pro-abortion candidates in the general election.
AZRTL Endorses Jan Brewer for Governor
AZRTL PAC iterates its endorsement of Jan Brewer in the Republican Primary for Arizona Governor because she has been a supporter of the pro-life cause for over 25 years. Since becoming governor in January 2009, Governor Jan Brewer signed into law eight pro-life bills that will help protect innocent human life in Arizona. “In just 18 months as governor, Governor Brewer has proven herself to be a strong advocate for the sanctity of life,” said Walt Opaska, Chairman of the AZRTL PAC.
AZRTL Endorses Andrew Thomas for Attorney General
AZRTL PAC endorses Andrew Thomas in the Republican Primary for Arizona Attorney General. AZRTL PAC endorses Thomas based on his long history of involvement and commitment to Arizona Right to Life and the pro-life movement.
AZRTL PAC also notes that Tom Horne had a pro-abortion voting record during his service in the Arizona State Legislature. “During this campaign, Tom Horne has downplayed and hidden his pro-abortion views. AZRTL PAC warns all pro-life voters not to be misled by Tom Horne. Instead, pro-life voters should support Andy Thomas.” said Jinny Perron, Treasurer of the AZRTL PAC.
AZRTL Endorses Ken Bennett for Secretary of State
AZRTL PAC endorses Ken Bennett in the Republican Primary for Arizona Secretary of State because he has been a strong supporter of the pro-life cause throughout his entire career in public service. As President of the Senate, Ken Bennett was a leader in supporting pro-life legislation and maintained a 100 percent life-time pro-life voting record.
“Ken Bennett has a long history of supporting the rights of the unborn. AZRTL PAC is proud to support Ken in his bid to be elected as the Arizona Secretary of State.” said Walt Opaska, Chairman of the AZRTL PAC.
AZRTL Endorses Doug Ducey For Treasurer
AZRTL PAC endorses Doug Ducey in the Republican Primary for Arizona Treasurer because Doug demonstrated that he is a true pro-life candidate who has the means and resources to defeat pro-abortion liberal democrat Andrei Cherny in the general election in November. Through the help of national pro-abortion liberal organizations and other pro-abortion politicians, Andrei Cherny has amassed a large war chest and will provide a formidable challenger to the Republican nominee for Treasurer. “Doug Ducey has demonstrated to Arizona Right to Life a commitment to protect the unborn,” said PAC chairman Walter Opaska, “and in this election he is the pro-life candidate whose resources and determination give him the best chance to defeat an extremely well funded and well-connected pro-abortion opponent in the general election.”
AZRTL PAC strongly acknowledges and thanks Thayer Verschoor for his perfect pro-life voting record. AZRTL PAC also acknowledges Barbara Leff’s pro-life voting record. However, AZRTL PAC believes that it must endorse the candidate who has the best chance to beat a pro-abortion democrat in the general election. AZRTL PAC hopes that this endorsement will send a message to out-of-state liberal organizations that pro-life organizations and the conservative movement will not sit on the sideline and allow any Arizona state elected offices to become stepping stones for radical liberal candidates with pro-abortion agendas.
AZRTL Endorses John Huppenthal For Superintendent of Public Instruction
AZRTL PAC endorses John Huppenthal in the Republican Primary for Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction because he has been an unwavering supporter of the sanctity of life for over 17 years during his service in both the state house and senate.
“John Huppenthal demonstrated a constant commitment to pro-life issues while in the State Legislature” said PAC board member Danny Seiden “Arizona Right to Life PAC looks forward to John’s leadership as the Superintendent of Public Instruction.”
AZRTL Endorses Joe Hart For Mine Inspector
AZRTL PAC endorses Joe Hart in the Republican Primary for Arizona Mine Inspector. For almost 20 years, Joe Hart has been a strong steadfast supporter of the pro-life cause.
“Throughout his long and distinguished public service career Joe Hart has demonstrated a commitment to support pro-life causes, and AZRTL PAC is proud to endorse him in his bid for re-election as the Arizona State Mine Inspector” said PAC Chairman Walt Opaska.
AZRTL Endorses Brenda Burns and Gary Pierce For the Arizona Corporation Commission
AZRTL PAC endorses Brenda Burns and Gary Pierce in the Republican Primary for the two open seats on the Arizona Corporation Commission. Brenda Burns and Gary Pierce have demonstrated a solid commitment to pro-life causes during their careers in public service.
“Brenda Burns and Gary Pierce are true pro-life candidates and the AZRTL PAC is excited to support them in their bids to be elected to the Arizona Corporation Commission” said PAC board member Danny Seiden.
Barry Wong, another candidate in the Republican Primary for Corporate Commission, is pro-abortion and voted against protecting the sanctity of life while a member of the state legislature. For this reason, AZRTL PAC strongly urges pro-life supporters to vote for both Brenda Burns and Gary Pierce and not Barry Wong.
Paid for by the AZRTL PAC and not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee.
