Find or Start a Campus Club

Involving your peers at school is a great way to spread the pro-life message. High School and College students are among the most vulnerable prey of the abortion industry. The late teens and early twenties are when a large portion of abortions occur and when people often first make up their minds on life and death issues. Student involvement is a must!

Many schools already have thriving Pro-Life groups on campus. These are the groups we are aware of. If you attend one of these schools, please contact the group leader and get involved. If your campus has a group that is not listed here, please email admin@arizonarighttolife.org. If you would like to start a group on your campus, please keep reading below.

How Do I Start A Pro-Life Club At My School?

One of the best ways to defend life is to have a pro-life presence on your campus that can educate students about abortion and create a greater respect for life.  One way to have this presence is to create a pro-life club where you and other students can meet and plan different ways to spread the pro-life message.  Not only will you help defend human life, starting your own club demonstrates leadership and commitment and is an excellent activity to add to college applications.  Below are the steps you will have to go through if you want to start a pro-life club on campus:

1. Go to the main office and find out what you need to start club at your school. Then fill out the documents as needed.

2. Most schools require you to have a constitution and/or bylaws. This packet includes a sample constitution you can use.

3. Find officers for your club that are passionate and committed to being pro-life.

4. Every school will require you to find a sponsor, or someone who is on staff who agrees to be present during your meetings. Teachers that currently sponsor Christian clubs on campus may be able to help you find a sponsor for a pro-life club.

5. Goals of the club:
a. Educate and equip your peers to defend life and the dignity of every human person.
b. Get your friends and peers to become active in Life issues by attending monthly events put on by Arizona Right to Life.
c. Plan your own events that your group can become active in. For example, planning to donate time at a women’s shelter sorting supplies for low income pregnant women.

6. Arizona Right to Life will provide assistance with anything you need. We can send speakers to your classrooms, give you updated information, provide models, brochures, videos, and give you ideas for future activities. We are here to support you and help you in any way we can.

7.  If your school does not allow you to start a club, contact us immediately. According to the First Amendment, you have a right to start a club regardless of its message if your school allows other similar clubs (such as community service, drama, or science club) to be formed.  Our legal team will fight for your right to be heard.
